Born and raised in Southern California, Summer Joy has been immersed in the electronic dance music scene since 2000, witnessing its evolution from intimate underground gatherings to global stages. After attending her first event at just 17, she was instantly hooked—drawn in by the music, the energy, and a community rooted in authenticity, positivity, and a true come-as-you-are spirit.

Fast forward 23 years, and Summer Joy has made the transition from the dance floor to the decks, channeling her years of lived dance-floor experience into every set. Her selections are designed as a journey—pulling you in with tracks you didn’t even know you wanted or needed to hear, always curated to elevate the collective vibe and maximize joy.

House music speaks to her on a deep, soulful level. As the saying goes, house music is a feeling—one that brings rhythm, soul, connection, and smiles through movement. Every opportunity to DJ is met with immense gratitude, as she sends out sonic vibrations rooted in the community-driven values of peace, love, unity, and respect.

A true house head at heart, though you might still catch her vibing at the D&B stage, Summer Joy is drawn to soulful, bass-driven, groovy, and mesmerizing sounds. Her influences span across house subgenres, with inspiration from artists like Mau P, MK, Jamie Jones, Green Velvet, Mark Knight, and Armand Van Helden. At the end of the day, if it’s house in any form, she’s here to play it.
