Recognized as one of the leading forces in UK electronic music, James Hurr has carved out his place as a prolific producer, DJ, and sound engineer. Known for his versatility and creative output, he’s become the go-to collaborator for some of the biggest names in both pop and dance.
Based in London, James has worked with heavyweights like Alok, Tiësto, Amelie Lens, Mark Knight, Michael Gray, and Hannah Laing. Remarkably, BBC Radio 1 once featured nine of his productions in a single night, and his music has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify. In addition to his house releases, he’s produced for global icons including Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, and Nile Rodgers.
Hurr’s productions span from soulful, club-ready house to harder-edged sounds under his alter ego HVRR, signed to Ministry of Sound. His signature is crisp, groove-heavy, and modern—perfect for both underground dance floors and chart success. Standout tracks include “Good Love” with Hannah Laing (a platinum hit), “Learn 2 Love” with Tiësto, and “Why I Love You So” with Alok and Supafly.
In 2017, Hurr opened Aux Studios in Shoreditch, collaborating with Basement Jaxx, Todd Terry, and Danny Howard. Later, he launched 9M Studios in Elephant & Castle, further expanding his creative reach and launching the Hrrtzproject with Paul Harris of Dirty Vegas, landing releases on Atlantic and Anjunabeats.
With over 100 releases on Toolroom Records and support from Tiësto, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, and Oliver Heldens, James Hurr is both a behind-the-scenes powerhouse and a front-facing star. For House Nation Radio listeners, he represents the new face of UK house: innovative, collaborative, and unstoppable.
